Mr James Allan, Consultant Urologist, has been announced as the Medical Advisor to the international cricket team Lashings. The Urolift is gaining popularity as the best minimally invasive technique for treating men with prostate problems without exposing them to the potential risks of surgery . The prestigious position is the only Endourology Fellowship in the UK and widely sought after . The leadership of David Tolley combined with the opportunities provided by the workload of the stone burden of Scotland and the primary centre for laparoscopic urology have made this one of the few Fellowships outside theUSA.

The Childline Ball is commonly held at The Savoy Hotel in September and raises approximately one million pounds each year for Childline . The hospital is looking for strong leadership and the vison to create a clinical service that allows the department to flourish within the footprint of Norfolk and Norwich and Cambridge Teaching Hospitals . The department is widely regarded as a centre of excellence for both treatment and training .

Mr James Allan , Consultant Urologist, has been widely congratulated by the Regional Training Committee in Urology for the excellence of Urological Training at West Suffolk Hospital . Mr Allan has established two training posts for young surgeons and these are now widely recognised as the most popular in the region . It is of note that the last two trainees were both young professors who are widely tipped to be the starts of the future.

Last year over 4000 families attended a sun soaked carnival of cricket and healthy fun .
